Chapter III: Of Shadows and Lights - Tokyo ni ikimasu! (I'm going to Tokyo!) Flight cancelled in Tahiti, but I board the next plane to Auckland-Sydney-Tokyo on July the 3rd, after a drastic 10kg diet on my luaggage. Belgium just won the game on Japan. The last chapter of my journey just began.

Finding my way into this gigantic network of gibberish symbols (kanji), in a country where you'd be lucky to find anyone speaking a tiny bit of english turns to a real survival challenge

A small-but-delicious piece of pie after and we are one the road to the lakes Chuzenji and Yunoko, passing by Kegon, Ryuzu and Yudaki waterfalls. After nice walks into steamy-mysterious forests, we pitched the tents on a campground next to Yunoko lake, socialized with travelers and went for an onsen

Mt Fuji come on sight, this pointy and impressive mountain grew in front of us as our upcoming challenge. We'll start this big enterprise by next morning. It all began on a glorious Sunday afternoon around 2800m at the 5th station, start of the Fujiyama Trail. We made it up to the top for sunrise.

Shikansen bullet train to Kyoto, true heart of Japan, where we arrived during Gion festival. City of traditions, where people wear kimonos and yukatas, eat fish on the market and go to the temples. Kyoto Tower to the Higashi Honganji temple, Fushimi Inari gates to the Geishas' neighborhood

After a brief stop in Kobe, we continue our journey into japanese History. Himeji Castle is the great Shirasagi-jō : the White Heron Castle. We had a good picture of japanese perfection sense of gardens into the Castles' Gardens.

We continue our journey back to Tokyo, and after another quick stop in Uji to visit the Phoenix Temple, we stayed in Osaka with Takuma. Thanks to him, we had a nice visit of the great Buddha temple in Nara. We tried the awful green matcha and enjoyed the delicious sushi and okonomiyaki!

A fast ride in the Shinkansen later and we're back in Tokyo. I stay with my great host Maharu for a great final in Tokyo, eating with many friends and experimenting karaoke night! Feeling the vibe in Tokyo before closing this chapter and my journey. Goodbye to all my fellow friends!
