Hi canadian familiy !
This past few weeks has been really busy for both of us.
We had to work on several projects at the same time and it was quite stressful. But now, it’s time to enjoy two full weeks of holiday !
Fortunately,
we also know how to have fun ! We did a few lunches in Rennes with our friends,
lying on the grass and enjoying fresh food. The weather is now very nice and warm,
and it was really enjoyable! We also enjoyed some great burgers (you know the love of Marine for burgers :P) and nice parties together ! Here are some pictures with our friends Wendy, Maiana, Pauline, Sébastien, Mathieu and Tiana ;)
One week end, Marine came back to Paris to see her family and boyfriend and went to the gala organized by the school of Florent. Everybody was well dressed: colorful dresses for girls and suits, bowties or ties for guys ! It was really a beautiful night in the "Salons Hoche", a nice banquet hall near the Champs-Elysées :)
One of the project we worked on is called “innovating
project”. The project of Manon and her team is called “SAMARCH”, for “SAlmonids
Management Round the Channel”. It is an interregional project between France
and England that consists in studying the salmonids of the channel, which
number had dropped the past few years. Manon and her team had to interviews the
scientist implied on this project. In order to do that, she was in Southern
England last week and had the opportunity to hear the famous British accent (really
different from the Canadian one) and to eat English breakfast (tea, poached
eggs and naked beans!)
The project of Marine and her team is to create a tool for evaluating goat welfare in farms. The first steps were to choose the most representative criteria. They chose to evaluate 3 categories: the barn, breeding practices and animal. For this, they created a questionnaire to put a score depending on what has been observed. The goal of this project is to help breeders to improve some of their practices and to communicate with visitors about welfare :)
One of the best friend of Marine, Eleonore, came to visit her this week. They were really happy to see each other after a year !! (Eleonore is in vet school in Toulouse, South of France). It was the opportunity for Eleonore to discover the city of Rennes and to spend time together. They had a tasty brunch with Maiana, walked in colorful parks, went to the famous market of Rennes and ate galettes and crêpes :)
Now it is time to enjoy the holidays. Manon is
coming back home, in the Vosges mountains. She will spend the time with her family,
friends and boyfriend. Hopefully the weather will be great ! She has planned many
outdoor activities such as paragliding, a 3 days bike trip, and quite a few
hikes.
Marine has also planned to spend times with those she loves, to hike, to ride motorcycles with her boyfriend, and to go to the swimming pool :)
