To the West coast!

We left the lakes behind for the sea in front

From the lakes to the ocean through the mountains

We woke up on the edge of lake Hawea, blessed by wonderful morning lights over the mountains in front. After our morning stretching and breakfast, we went on our road-trip to the west coast, driving all along the lake Hawea on our right and Wanaka on our left. At "the neck", the pass offers incredible views over both lakes. We stopped many times to enjoy the view of blue lakes and impressive mountains. We had a very nice walk at the unreal Blue Pools on Makarora river. The shades of blue gave to the water incredible deepness. We stopped at a waterfall for lunch and a scenic lookout over mount Aspiring for a break. We kept on going through Haast Pass, which holds the clouds between the high peaks before leaving the lakes behind for the sea in front.
