Warsaw

Warsaw is the sprawling capital of Poland as well as the first leg of our trip to Central Europe.

Report by Pierre-Antoine Gutierrez

Its extremely varied architecture reflects its long and eventful past, from Gothic churches and neoclassical palaces to blocks of Soviet-era buildings and modern skyscrapers. The old town was restored after being massively destroyed during the Second World War. Its center is the Market Square, with its pastel buildings and café terraces. The Siren monument in its heart is the symbol of the city.
